Whether you want a whole pie or just a slice, looking to sit down or grab and go, there are plenty of options for everyone to grab a slice of 'za in Downtown Columbus.
White Pizza with Spinach and Tomato, Aracri Pizzeria on Gay
We’re giving you the perfect excuse to check out Aracri Pizzaria on Gay’s new spot – nestled between Monk’s Copy Shop and Gold Medal Co at 51 E Gay Street. The new digs still give off a cozy, authentic NY vibe that Café Napolitana was known for. All the flavors you know and love (like BBQ Chicken Bacon Ranch) and some specialty slices (like Balsamic Drizzle Margherita). Sold by the *giant* slice, it’s a tasty, inexpensive option.
Perfect for: Super-fast service. This was the quickest stop out of all five!
Esso Sausage Spicy Pizza, OH Pizza & Brew
If you want to take things up a notch, check out this Esso Sausage Spicy Pizza. A classic with a little kick, this spicy pepperoni is made locally by the Esso Sausage Company. Can’t take the heat? Wash it down with a beer from the bar (I.e. the “brew” in OH Pizza and Brew). They have Happy Hour daily from 3-6pm.
Perfect for: After work bite and beer
BBQ Chicken Pizza, Pizza Rustica
Right across from the Ohio Statehouse, Pizza Rustica has everything you could want from fast-casuel fare and … and then some. The mega slices are sufficient solo or pair with another offering from their menu like calzones, salad or gelato. You can also get any combination on a Gluten-Free crust, just know it will take a little longer to prep so order ahead if you’re in a hurry.
They also have a secret entrance inside the Huntington Center so no need to make an extra trip outside.
Perfect For: mixing and matching.
Jalapeno Popper Stuffed-Crust Pizza, 4th & State
Not your typical pizza place, everything on the menu is vegan. That’s right - EVERYTHING. But if you take your meat-loving friends they might never know. You must try the Jalapeno Popper Stuffed Crust pizza. We may be biased, but it’s easily the best in the city. Pizza is just a slice of what this upscale diner offers so be sure to check out their entire menu.
Perfect for: Meatless Monday
Garbage Pizza, Mikey's Late Night Slice
Irreverent, ingenious, delicious. Pizza and pop culture combine for an over-the-top experience in an insta-worthy locale. If you’re not familiar with this iconic Columbus pizza joint, they’re known for in-your-face names like The Wedgie and Silence of the Buffalo Chickens. But when you’re this good at pizza-ing, you can pretty much get away with anything. They’ve also got Gluten-Free and Vegan options so everyone can partake.
While you’re there, check out other neighbors like Hadley’s, Dirty Frank's, Little Palace or Spoonful Records – all within walking distance.
Note: When they say late night – they mean it! Most days they don’t open until 4pm, so definitely drop by for dinner or after pinball at 16-Bit. If you hit them up during the day, you’ll probably be disappointed.
Perfect For: A late-night slice. Trite but true.
BONUS: Check out this cute photo spot we found at Aracri on Gay.
