Scioto Mile Fountain

A Columbus symbol

For more than 12 years the Scioto Mile Fountain has been a key part of summer in our community, provided the iconic image of Downtown and has been well loved by people of all ages. It’s become synonymous with Downtown as an iconic place to gather, play, and relax.

Re-opening in Summer 2024.

The fountain is currently undergoing construction and set to re-open in late May 2024. Downtown Columbus, Inc. and the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department have contracted world-class design professionals at AECOM and WET Design to spearhead the enhancements. WET Design is known for its fountains at the Bellagio and the Singapore Airport, among many other landmark locations internationally.

The redesign and construction is funded in partnership between the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department and Scioto Mile Endowment. By investing in this world-class asset, it can continue to be enjoyed by families for many years to come, while also expanding equity and inclusion elements in the core of our city.

The renovation addresses fundamental operational needs of the fountain as well as aesthetic changes to keep the park active year-round and extend the life of the fountain into the future. Downtown Columbus, Inc. plans to bring families Downtown with engaging programming at the fountain for the whole family to enjoy. Here’s what’s coming:

A grand re-opening event is planned for May of 2024, which will be published here. Stay tuned!
