As the weather cools, families look for some indoor fun for the kids to prevent the climbing of walls. Lucky for us all, COSI offers fun year round. This fall, explore your favorite exhibits once again. After all, who wouldn't love another spin on the High Wire Unicycle or another chance to make your hair stand on end at the Electrostatic Generator? Also, check out something new and different, maybe something with trains.
Thomas the Train Comes to COSI
Now through January 7, Thomas the Train lovers are in for a tootin' good time. Thomas and Friends: Explore the Rails features everyone's favorite tank engine, Thomas, of PBK KIDS fame.
Kids young and old love exploring the Island of Sodor, hopping into Thomas' cab, loading luggage, fixing Percy's wobbling wheels, and even donning a conductor's uniform. And because COSI is all about learning, the exhibit sneaks in foundational STEM practices. So, your kids get a healthy dose of mathematical thinking, problem solving and creative thinking. It's the play-time version of hiding veggies in the pasta sauce. Clever.
If you and the family can't get enough of trains, Model Railroad Days runs October 25 - 29 at COSI. Find trains of all kinds, with model railroads from a variety of local train organizations. COSI admission or membership includes this special exhibition. What a deal.
Still don't have enough train time in your life? Now through November 11, take in Rocky Mountain Express on COSI's giant screen theatre. Climb aboard for a steam train journey through the Canadian Rockies, taking in the unbelievable views captured with aerial cinematography. The film tells the story of the building of the transcontinental railroad, still considered one of the greatest feats of engineering ever.
And be sure to mark your calendars for a special showing of The Polar Express, which will run December 8 - 10.
All October long, COSI members can bring a guest with them for free. Simply present this coupon with proof of membership, and the two of you will have a ball. This offer is good for either a youth or adult general admission. Ask them how to nab some free popcorn too.
