There’s a lot going on downtown that you never see—unless you’re really looking. Sometimes, we gotta shine a light on businesses. Take NAI Ohio Equities. They totally rock, and this time of year they pay it forward, too.
What is NAI Ohio Equities, you say? Well, they manage downtown condos like 8 on the Square, Miranova, City View and more. But it’s not ho-hum. This time of year, they have a Santa in their midst Maintenance and Facilities Engineer Michael Jennings channels his inner St. Nick each holiday season, volunteering with the North Linden Toy Run.
For more than 10 years, Michael has joined fellow community Santas to fulfill the wish lists of underprivileged children from schools in the North Linden area. And, most of these generous folk come from the motorcycle club and hot rod community in Central Ohio. They certainly speed in to fill the need.
Once all the gifts are gathered, the kids are invited to a special Christmas party for some holiday cheer. Donning a white beard and red suit, Michael brings joy to the kids in attendance. The kiddos enjoy a hot meal and a special photo with the big guy himself. And this year, they can admire Santa's new ride, a beautiful sleigh that Michael built with his own hands. Sweet.
“I wanted to have something that brings joy to the children,” Michael explained.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Claus (Michael's wife) gets in on the action, organizing the event and helping to spread the word via social media and good old fashioned word of mouth.
Capital Crossroads commends Michael and the folks at NAI Ohio Equities for their giving spirit. If your business wants to get in on the giving action, consider becoming Business Members. There's even a little something in it for your business, like invitations to special events where you can get the lowdown on all the great stuff happening downtown. Depending on your giving level, some other goodies are thrown in, so be sure to check out all the options, from the Advocate Level ($250) on up to the Leader Level ($2,000).
