My First Tea Ceremony: A Japanese Traditional Tea

In celebration of Asian American, Pacific Islander Heritage Month, The Kelton House is bringing this event back for 2025!

Grace Kelton had a love for travel, and Japan was place she held special. Join us and Yumiko Passalacqua of the Yokoso Center (www.yokosocenter.com) to celebrate this wonderful culture.

Guests will be greeted by Mrs. Masako Nagata playing the koto.  A short chat about Grace’s travels, accompanied by a display of artifacts she brought back will be presented.  Bento boxes filled with Japanese treats will be enjoyed to the live music, then Ms. Passalacqua will perform and teach the tea ceremony.

Guest arrival 12:15 p.m.- 12:30 p.m. with live koto music, Bento boxes served 12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Ceremony starts at 1:15 p.m. followed by guest participation
