
The public is warmly invited to a Community Gathering & Opening Forum to discuss the planning of a new public memorial honoring children lost to gun violence and the Mothers of Murdered Columbus Children who carry their memory. The session will be facilitated by Kim Brazwell, a trauma-informed social justice consultant with over 15 years in community building and advocacy.

Location: Fran Ryan Cultural Center, 865 E. Capital St.in Olde Towne East. Parking available onsite.
Host: Mothers of Murdered Columbus Children (MoMCC), in partnership with GCAC and the City of Columbus
This gathering marks the public introduction of the memorial project and the beginning of a broader community dialogue. The morning will include storytelling and reflection from MoMCC members and community partners, followed by an open-floor reflection circle.
The space is intended to support collective sharing around themes of remembrance, loss, healing, and hope.
All are welcome — including community members, families, civic partners, artists, and those who wish to listen and reflect together.
