Artist Thomas Scoon unveils his abstract figurative sculpture in a Preview Opening and Artist Reception at Hawk Galleries, 153 E. Main St., in downtown Columbus. Hawk Galleries was voted “Best Gallery 2025” by readers of Columbus Monthly magazine. Come meet New Hampshire-based Scoon and learn about his evolution as an artist
.“My abstract figurative pieces are one-of-a-kind, since each stone is unique, with its own characteristics and gestures. The figures have a sense of history and timelessness from the stone, but they’re also contemporary. The cast glass acts as a translucent stone, making them cohesive. Most importantly, the glass gives my sculptures a sense of soul. When the pieces are pair or grouped, interpersonal relationships are formed. Conversations occur between them and I hope the viewer also.”
