Five Ways to Get Around in Downtown Columbus

There are plenty of places to go in Downtown Columbus, but getting there is the first step! Planning your trip does not always have to start with a car; Downtown is more accessible than ever, and we’re going to tell you how! Here are five ways you can plan on getting around:

1. Drive + Park

No matter which way you are driving into Downtown Columbus, you’ll run into a place to park! Not all parking is created the same though, so make sure you have a plan. You can take advantage of one of our many parking garages which you can view here (with prices!). If you prefer to use street parking, be sure to download the Park Cbus mobile app so you can easily pay for (and extend!) your street parking.

2. Ride a Scooter

Downtown Columbus is home to two scooter companies, Lime and Bird. If you are leaving lunch, grab a scooter for a small charge and enjoy a breezy trip back to the office. These scooters are a simple way to get to and fro without having to worry about moving your car and losing a good parking spot.

3. Get Biking

We are a bike friendly city! If you are riding on your own bike, you can use one of our many bike paths (like the Olentangy!) to visit Downtown Columbus and park in one of our 300 parking spots. Don’t have your own bike? Don’t worry! Hop on one of the 300+ CoGo Bikes we have in 40 different locations throughout Downtown Columbus. If you are new to urban bicycling, sign up for an educational experience from Yay Bikes! They can help boost your riding confidence and help you encourage others to bike, too.

4. Hop on the COTA Bus

Let someone else do the driving for you! Use the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) system for your trip. Whether you are a commuter from the suburbs or a downtown resident, COTA offers no-hassle service across the entire city. You can view their bus routes here to plan your trip.

5. Go for a Run or Walk

The simplest way to get around Downtown Columbus! Go for a walk or run. We have so many beautiful walking paths and parks to have a scenic walk to your destination. You can easily start at the Columbus Library to pick up a new book then make your way to the Columbus Commons to read with a beautiful background. Don’t forget to grab a coffee from Cafe De Nook to complete your day.
