The National Veterans Memorial and Museum (NVMM) will host Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors, a collection of original paintings by former President George W. Bush. The exhibition opens to the public on August 8, 2026.

The exhibition features more than 60 portraits of post-9/11 service members and Veterans, each one hand painted by President Bush and paired with a personal story of service, sacrifice, and resilience written by the former president.

The NVMM is open Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Check out this mixed-rep ballet at BalletMet’s newest show. Mixed-rep ballets are several unrelated short ballets with intermissions, similar to a collection of short stories. Each of the three choreographers, selected through a competitive international process, will travel to Columbus and create new works on BalletMet’s extraordinary company of dancers. The result is an evening of visionary world premieres offering audiences an unfiltered look at where ballet is headed.

Join CMA’s Shackelford Family Assistant Curator of American Art, Molly K. Eckel, on a tour of celestial landscapes in the American collection inspired by Orpheus’ Comet by Bulgarian composer Dobrinka Tabakova. After her talk, enjoy a live performance by Columbus Symphony Orchestra musicians. This program is $5 for Columbus Museum of Arts members, $15 for nonmembers.
