Art in BloomIf the saying about April holds true, the Columbus Museum of Art should be all set for Art in Bloom April 26 - 29. Imagine the museum coming to life - not Night at the Museum style - but with beautiful floral designs that are paired with artworks from the CMA collection. Presented by the Beaux Arts Auxiliary of the Columbus Museum of Art, this spectacular event raises funds that support the children's learning experiences at the Museum year-long.

Preview to Art in Bloom

The weekend kicks off with Fashion in Bloom on Thursday, April 26 from 7 - 9 p.m. For just $50, enjoy floral couture, a preview of the Art in Bloom gallery, plus live music, food and drink. And, you are encouraged to wear some floral-inspired fashion.

Or, check out the Secret Garden Preview on Friday, April 27 from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. You get to meet the Art in Bloom floral designers. And, enjoy live floral design by Lynn Fronk, Master Flower Show Judge and Flower Show Schools Instructor. Tickets are $30, which includes a $10 voucher to Schokko Art Cafe. Score.

Music and Monet

Then on Friday, April 27 from 2 - 4 p.m., the Columbus Symphony Orchestra performs for Symphony with Monet. Inspired by Monet's flowers and gardens, this $50 event includes a floral design presentation by Dümmen Orange and a curator talk. Plus, you get to take home a beautiful mini-bouquet. Score again.

You Become the Artist

Join the Chihuly Community Bloom & Build for a chance to be part of the art. Yes, you'll work together with Brian Coovert CFD, Emc and other international designers to create a group installation inspired by the stunning glass artwork of Dale Chihuly. (We in Columbus know how Chihuly and flowers go together. Just check out the installation of his work at Franklin Park Conservatory.) Then, the completed group work will be on display during Art in Bloom. The event runs from 2 - 5 p.m. on April 28. And, your $75 ticket includes wine, snacks, access to event photos, and the chance to create.

Or, bring the kiddos to The Family Potting Shed on April 28 from 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m, where you will decorate your own flower pot to take home with a live plant. The cost is $12.

While you're hanging out at CMA this weekend, be sure to stroll around the Discovery District. It's a hotbed of art and fun, including CCAD, Topiary Park and Columbus Metropolitan Library.
