CDDC & CapSouth’s City Changing Projects
CDDC and Capitol South bring city-changing projects to Columbus. As project implementer, CDDC and Capitol South have forged critical public/private partnerships and managed the design and construction of the Lazarus Building’s restoration; City Center Mall to Columbus Commons park conversion; The Scioto Mile riverfront renaissance; and the Scioto Greenways river restoration and greenspace reclamation.
CDDC and Capitol South successfully implemented the community’s vision as articulated in the 2010 Downtown Columbus Strategic Plan, which built on the 2002 Strategic Business Plan for Downtown Columbus. These plans put renewed attention on Downtown Columbus, with an opportunity to transform not only the urban core, but the city as a whole. The 2010 Plan advanced the long-term framework for Downtown and identified catalysts for continued growth. A successful Downtown will, in turn, create a more successful region that is both nationally and globally competitive.
