Graham\, U.S. Army (Retired)\, MBA\, as our guest speaker. A Gold Star father and dedicated mental health advocate\, Maj. Gen. Graham has devoted his life to promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention following the tragic losses of his sons—Second Lt. Jeff Graham\, killed by an IED in Iraq in 2004\, and Kevin Graham\, a Senior Army ROTC cadet who died by suicide in 2003. Together with his wife Carol\, he continues to champion efforts to end the stigma surrounding mental health care in both military and civilian communities. Among his many pursuits\, he currently serves as director of Vets4Warriors. \nDoors open at 7 p.m. for the reception. The Gold Star Family Candlelight Vigil procession will begin at 7:45 p.m. on the Museum rooftop and travel down to the Soldiers Cross in Memorial Grove. Harris will share her path to healing by reaching out to the Rangers who knew her father best. Tara discovered the surprising power of redirecting grief into something larger than herself. \nAlso\, listen as U.S. Army Veteran and country musician\, Keni Thomas\, shares a special tribute for Families of the Fallen. \nThere will be a dessert reception beginning at 7 p.m. The Vigil procession will step off at 8 p.m.\, and will begin on the Museum rooftop and travel down to the Soldiers Cross in Memorial Grove.

DESCRIPTION:Join the NVMM\, Rogue\, and CrossFit Clintonville on Saturday\, May 25\, for a workout in honor Medal of Honor recipient and Navy SEAL\, Lieutenant Michael Murphy. Murphy was killed in action when he risked his life to call for help during an ambush while serving in Afghanistan in 2005. Remember Lt. Murphy\, his sacrifice and the impact it left on the people around him this Memorial Day Weekend. \nThere will be two separate times for you to be able to participate in. Heat #1 will begin at 8 a.m.; Heat #2 will begin at 9 a.m. Choose your preferred heat time when you register. \nTickets include a commemorative Hero Workout item\, free Museum admission and free parking. \n  \nThe Workout\n\n\nOne-mile run\n100 pull-ups\n200 push-ups\n300 squats\nOne-mile run\n\nWorkout completed for time.\n\n\n\n

The presenters will reveal the challenges and triumphs of aerial warfare during World War II\, making connections to the Apple TV show Masters of the Air and our latest special exhibition\, Lost Man Blues: Jon Schueler – Art and War. \nThe evening will include a panel discussion\, display of original images from the NMUSAF’s Memphis Belle exhibit\, and time for audience Q&A. \nLight refreshments will be provided.

In partnership with the NASA Solar System Ambassadors program\, we will have hands-on learning activities throughout the Museum between the hours of 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. \nActivities include: \n\n\nGuess the distance of the earth to the moon and the sun\nDesign a military and NASA patch\nDraw your own perspective of the sky\, inspired by our latest special exhibition\, Lost Man Blues: Jon Schueler – Art and War\nFun giveaways from the NASA Solar System Ambassador Program\n\n\n \nAdmission is free for NVMM members\, $5 for students\, Ohio History Connection and COSI members\, and $10 for general public who wants to marvel at this celestial phenomenon. \nSpecial eclipse glasses are available on a first come first serve basis.

SUMMARY:Welcome Home Ceremony - National Vietnam War Veterans Day
DESCRIPTION:Join NVMM at the Museum on Vietnam War Veterans Day for a moving ceremony to welcome home Veterans\, many of whom never received that honor after serving our country during the Vietnam War. \nThe keynote speaker is Chief Master Sergeant Ray Snedegar\, U.S. Air Force (Retired) who served for 32 years. In 1975\, Snedegar was assigned to help with the mission\, Operation Babylift in Vietnam. He will share how he helped save the lives of 145 babies and 12 adults after his plane was attacked. In total\, Operation Babylift evacuated more than 3\,000 orphans from Saigon.
