Skating, sliding, cheering (for the Jackets of course). Do it all at Winter Park (presented by Worthington Industries) at McFerson Commons right across from Nationwide Arena. But hurry, the big shindig only lasts until February 26. Cheer for the Blue Jackets during outdoor practice, watch the kiddos slide down the Mad River Mountain Kids’ Slide, or grab some blades and glide around the rink. Heck, do it all. We’ve got the scoop on what’s happening during Winter Park.
Public skating costs only $5, which includes skate rental. There’s even a special heated viewing tent if you get tuckered out and need a break. Just watch everyone else skate for a while. The rink is open seven days a week so there’s sure to be a time that works for your family.
You’ll need to step (or slide) aside on Friday, February 10 because the Columbus Blue Jackets are scheduled to take to the ice for their outdoor team practice. Make sure to stick around and cheer them on since they’ll be working hard in preparation for their matchup against the Detroit Redwings. By the way, it’s a home game, and you still have time to get your tickets.

And, if you burn off so many calories you need to recharge, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance where you can relax and renew. If you want to scope out a few restaurants before you can go, check out the Arena District Food & Drink section. What are you waiting on…get going.
