Fireworks and fun – things are ‘booming’ all around Downtown Columbus this week. We’ve compiled a list of city’s best parties, parades, and performances.

Beginner Salsa

Here’s the antidote for anyone tired of so-so nights: salsa dancing! Become acquainted with one of the most popular forms of dance (no matter how many left feet you think you may have). In just four short weeks, you’ll not only know what a cross body lead is, you’ll perform it with grand syncopation.

 

Charity Day 5K

Runners and walkers, here’s your chance to run for a reason. When you hit the streets of Downtown Columbus in this 3rd annual event, you’re not only supporting a wide variety of nonprofits, you’re also raising money for one of 19 worthwhile organizations. Of course, one good deed deserves another, so end your three miles at a free, post-race party hosted by Red, White & BOOM!

Celebrate our country and community at the biggest, baddest, bestest Independence Day celebration and fireworks in the Midwest. The streets open up for this monumental, all-day event featuring a patriotic parade, street festival, live music, children’s park, and unforgettable fireworks display. Only in Downtown Columbus this week.

 

Columbus Clippers Baseball

Get fired up for a four-night stint of home games with the Columbus Clippers. Each night features something extraordinary, including fireworks, special drink prices, live Latin music, and a whole lot more. Like baseball. Yep. Definitely baseball. 

 

Elf the Musical Jr.

It’s Christmas in July, thanks to this musical adaptation of the heartwarming holiday film, Elf. Follow the hilarious antics of Buddy the Elf as he sets off for the Big Apple to spread his special brand of Christmas cheer. And, of course, singing loud for all to hear. The kids will love it. (And you will, too.)

 

Picnic with the Pops: Latin Explosion // Tito Puente Jr. and Jon Secada

There’s no doubt you’ll feel the heat during at this high-voltage concert featuring the passionate sounds of American salsa and Latin jazz. Together with the Columbus Symphony, Tito Puente Jr. and Jon Secada will perform their own cross-cultural hits. Start the night right by reserving a Latin-style picnic featuring ceviche, gazpacho, guacamole, and street tacos.

 

CAPA Summer Movie Series: Snow White & The Seven Dwarves

See the original 1937 musical fantasy film amidst the backdrop of the historic and opulent Ohio Theater.
