The Suffers and Doc Robinson

Columbus Commons, 160 S High St

Mix it up on a pre-weekend night with this free, no-tickets-required Downtown concert. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, grab a drink and some grub from the on-site beverage concessions and food trucks, then get ready to soak up the sizzling sounds. Music starts at 7:00 pm and features Houston’s award-winning Gulf Coast Soul ensemble, The Suffers, along with Columbus’s own acoustic-style singer-songwriter, Doc Robinson.

Nightlight 614 Outdoor Film Series: Training Day

This is serious fun. Serious, with props to Denzel Washington and his legendary performance in the 2001 police drama, Training Day. Fun, thanks to the pre-show events, which include hanging out with other 21+ adults, tunes from our resident DJ, fabulous food trucks, local craft beer, and wine.

Fright Nite Friday with Fritz: Jaws

In the summer of 1975, people talking were talking about Columbus’ local legend Fritz the Nite Owl and a campy movie named Jaws. Both are back and as good as ever. Join us in the wayback machine for a re-creation of Night Owl Theater featuring Fritz himself, along with retro commercials, hokey special effects, and of course, a great white shark nicknamed Bruce.

Picnic with the Pops: Dennis DeYoung and the Music of Styx

If you’ve got “Too Much Time On My Hands,” Come Sail Away” with your “Babe” for the “Best of Times” with “Mr. Roboto” and one of the most iconic voices of 1970s American rock band, Styx. Founding member and frontman Dennis DeYoung is taking the stage as Arnie Roth conducts the Columbus (rock) Symphony.
