What To Do This Week

Downtown Columbus Events

The last days of the year deserve to be celebrated. Here’s how to do it in style in Downtown Columbus.

Holiday Lights at Columbus Commons & Scioto Mile

Daily, Dec 23-31 | Dusk
Columbus Commons, 160 S High St

Keep the holiday season bright with a family walk among a dazzling, double-light display. Gaze upon almost a half-million LED lights among the trees in the Commons, followed by another quarter-million twinklers along the Scioto Mile riverfront. Starts at 5:00 pm every day through January 6.

State Auto’s Christmas Corner

Tuesday, December 24 | 5:30 pm
State Auto Insurance Companies, 518 E Broad St

Bundle up for a beloved Central Ohio Christmas Eve tradition: a family trip to State Auto’s Christmas Corner. Located at Pein Park on the corner of East Broad and North 11th Streets, this historic display features a brightly lit, life-sized Nativity and the cheery sounds of children and choirs singing.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Thursday, December 26 | 3:00 and 8:00 pm
Nationwide Arena, 200 W Nationwide Blvd

Put on your fancy finest and head to the Arena for a bigger, better-than-ever performance from the famed TSO. This all-new version of Christmas Eve & Other Stories features songs from their original 1996 album plus a whole bunch of fan favorites and greatest hits.

Family Friday Night at COSI

Friday, December 27 | 5:00 pm
COSI, 333 W Broad St

Let all the sugar- and holiday-induced energy loose among 320,000 square-feet of interactive science experiences, galleries, and exhibits. Evening hours make this dynamic, science-centric playground extra fun. Plus, the whole family gets a discount on admission.

Swingin’ in the New Year with Byron Stripling

Saturday, December 28 | 8:00 pm
Lincoln Theater, 769 E Long St

Continue the seasonal celebration with a joyous, jazzy, year-end concert at a Columbus’ landmark performing arts center. Always irresistible and ever electrifying, virtuoso jazz trumpeter Byron Stripling and his quartet are singing and swinging in the New Year.

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Home

Sun & Tue, Dec 29 & 31 | 5:00 & 7:00 pm
Nationwide Arena, 200 W Nationwide Blvd

Put on your Jackets! It’s time to cheer in the New Year and cheer on the CBJ as they face off against the Chicago Blackhawks and Florida Panthers. This is high-spirited, high-octane (and perhaps high-sticking) NHL fun – with a side of Stinger, of course.

First Night Columbus

Tuesday, December 31 | 5:30 pm
COSI, 333 W Broad St

Be one of the cool kids and ring in the New Year with a fun, family-friendly, alcohol-free party. From live music to airbrush tattoos to inflatables to video game trucks to face painting and more, First Night Columbus makes NYE unforgettable.
