Whether you have vowed to make 2017 a healthy one, or realize with a gulp that bathing suit season is just around the corner, there is a new downtown dining spot offering lunch and dinner with a healthy twist. Fans of downtown-favorite Market 65 will be excited to learn that co-owners, Anthony Micheli and Patrick Katzenmeyer, are spinning off with a new concept called Veranico. Located at 401 N. Front Street in the Arena District, it’s a fast-casual location with a clean, bright interior.

Just like at Market 65, the menu is built around made-to-order salads and sandwiches, but you’ll also find grain bowls, wraps, paninis, and from-scratch cookies and protein bars from Holly Schomberg. Then when the sun goes down, hockey goers and more can enjoy flatbreads and drinks on the harder side. In addition to pressed juices, teas and seasonal lemonades, you can partake in local beers on tap or bottled, plus a wine list. In addition to local beers, much of the meat and produce is also locally sourced.

Veranico opens this week, with scheduled hours from 10:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. You’ll be more than ready to don your bathing suit when the warm weather finally arrives.
