Rather than being one with the couch until spring, step out to see Under the Streetlamp. CAPA puts on the show Friday, February 2 at the Southern Theatre. Go ahead and treat yourself. There’s not a bad seat in the house, and these guys all performed in hit Broadway musicals including Jersey Boys. So, believe it when we say, you’re in for a toe-tappin’ good time. You might even want to shake your booty and more.
The show features tight harmonies and slick dance moves that promise to take you to an era of sharkskin suits, flashy cars and martini shakers. Whether you like the idea of a retro party, or you know it, ahem, all too well, kick back and enjoy the show. Under the Streetlamp celebrates the hits of the American Radio Songbook from the 1950s-1970s. So, flashback to people gathered under a streetlamp to sing their favorite rock and roll.
With irresistible charm and talent, Under the Streetlamp offers you the opportunity to get to know four big stars of stage and screen—Eric Gutman, Christopher Kale Jones, Brandon Wardell and Shonn Wiley. While each man gets his moment in the spotlight, their energy as a group has drawn a national following.
Under the Streetlamp could be just the thing to break the winter doldrums. Getting to see it at the Great Southern Theatre is a treat, too. With just 925 seats in the whole theatre, everyone gets a great seat. And if you fall in love with the theatre, and want more? Check out the rest of CAPA’s season line up. And, to wish you a Happy New Year, we have two tickets to the show up for grabs. Head over to our Facebook page and let us know what you are resolving to do in 2018 for a chance to win.
Lastly, one more thing. Wanna grab a bite to eat or a drink before the show? Tacos at Condado’s or a little Irish Stout at Dempsey’s? Find good grub and liquid cheer downtown, too. Check out some options on the Downtown Concierge.
