Maybe you love tacos and tequila. If so you’ve probably already tried the new downtown location of Condado. But if you’re waiting until the “newness” dies down a bit, change your plans. You’re gonna want to get there—right now if at all possible; it’s that good. The food is fresh and delicious, and we hear the margs are pretty tasty, too. One lucky person will get lunch on us.
While you figure out what tacos you want to munch, order the chips and salsa (we loved the pineapple salsa). There’s lots to choose from since Condado offers five different salsas, six varieties of queso and three kinds of guacamole. Can’t decide? Order the El Tres Amigos, and your server will bring you a choice of three tasty options.
If you’re a newbie to Condado, the tear-sheet menus look a little like sushi menus. Let your server explain your options, because your old-pro friends will have their heads down planning their own feast. It’s pretty simple, really. Choose a shell. Our faves were the Ju-Ju and Sweet Lucy. These shells are actually two shells in one—crunchy corn shell on the inside, and a thin, flour shell wrapped around. It’s an incredible combination. Go ahead and get it, live a little.
Choose your protein. Ten choices promise to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. Then pile your tacos with toppings (we loved the jicama and cabbage slaw), and don’t forget cheese, salsa, sauces and sides.
We dined at lunch so we passed on the margs, but customers get half off of all margaritas during happy hour and a buck off each taco. Take advantage of this sweet deal, Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
