Here’s your chance to escape the cold weather for a trip, which will span from Italy to Spain. Okay, so it’s really a happy hour right here in downtown, which is inspired by world-renowned travel destinations. But hey, you’re gonna get some great nosh, and it will get you out of the house on a crisp (okay, crappy) February evening.
Now in its third year, the Columbus Symphony presents Happy Hour Concert: From Italy to Spain via Alaska at the historic Ohio Theatre this Thursday, February 18. Forget about the yawn, these festive events provide an informal and contemporary look at the symphony in an hour-long event. Some of the best travel destinations inspire the music, and the program will feature Respighi’s Le fontaine di Roma (The Fountains of Rome), John Luther Adams’ Dream in White on White, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio espagnol.
Nosh on some free apps, check out the drink specials and meet CSO musicians before you take a seat for this free show. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m., and will last an hour with no intermission. Heck, you’ll get home in time to throw on the jammies and get comfy before you have to think about another day of work.
Come early though to grab your seat since it’s general admission. For more info or to find out about other CSO events, check out their website here.
