Are you looking to fill your summer nights with the beauty of music? The Columbus Symphony Orchestra
is betting you are. Mark your calendar this week with two outstanding summer-specific Symphony events: Summer Night Music and Picnic with the Pops. Both will leave you with a whole new appreciation for what our Symphony has to offer.
On Thursday, July 13 at 8 p.m., get ready for A Little Night Music
at the Southern Theatre. Part of the Symphony’s new classical series of concerts called Summer Night Music, this program features Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik
and Divertimento in D Major
, as well as Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings
. All the more impressive - it will be performed without a conductor. Our symphony rocks.
And pops. On Saturday, July 15 at 8 p.m., Picnic with the Pops
returns to Columbus Commons. Long a Columbus summer favorite, Picnic with the Pops lets you enjoy your music under the stars with a delicious picnic and good friends. This week’s performance, A Night of Symphonic Hip Hop
, features Common, a Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe-winning rapper (as well as actor, producer, activist and poet). Bring your own picnic, or order ahead from the special catering menu
. You’re sure to have a night to remember.
