Memorial Day screams summer fun, but now that the three-day weekend is over, what have you got planned for the rest of the summer? Columbus Commons offers the perfect place to hang, whether you need an after-work hangout, a food truck fix or family fun times. There are so many things going on there this summer, you may not even need to book a vacay, and it’s all right downtown. Mark your calendars now.
For the foodies out there, every Thursday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. brings the Food Truck Food Court, which features some amazing local bites. You’ll find some regulars all summer long with other vendors rotating monthly.
If you need to work off some of that food truck heaven, check out the free fitness classes offered all summer long, thanks to UnitedHealthcare. Ohio Fit Club instructors teach bootcamp, interval training, yoga, Zumba, kickboxing and hip-hop classes. A waiver is required; you can sign up online. If running is your thing, runners meet weekly at the Commons for a group run.
Before, after or during the workout, mark your calendar for the wide variety of performances at Columbus Commons. Columbus Symphony Orchestra returns with Picnic with the Pops and Popcorn Pops, and Thursdays in July bring the Downtown Live Concert Series. We probably filled your dance card, but if you still have room, check out the rest of the Columbus Commons Event Calendar.
Wait! We can’t forget the kiddos. Commons for Kids kicks off on May 29 with a Luau-themed day, complete with tropical music and a make-your-own lei station. Make a move on the life-size chess board, take a ride on the carousel or bounce on the inflatables. Not only will the kids enjoy weekly events, but you’ll also want to check out movie nights for family friendly fun.
Let us know what Columbus Commons summer fun you’re looking forward to most.
