FountainSideThey are dancing for joy, but you might be mid-panic. No more learning, no more books, no more teacher’s dirty looks? Yes, school’s out for summer, but don’t worry, there’s plenty of fun (and, shhhh…. learning) to be found in Columbus during the summer months. From Commons for Kids on Fridays to exploring Pearl Market, you can find fun far afield all summer long.

Starting on Wednesday, June 3 and running most Wednesdays through August 12, head to the fountains at Bicentennial Park for FountainSide, a series presented by Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. Each week, kids of all ages will enjoy splashing in the 15,000 square-foot interactive fountain, plus an array of activities games, and arts and crafts. The fun runs from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Grab some Donato’s pizza (by the slice or by the pie) and enjoy a picnic. Follow that up with free ice cream from the Meijer Treat Truck. Or hop on the Molina Healthcare Smoothie Bicycle for some healthy fun.

Each week, there will be additional fun and games related to the theme of the week. The weekly schedule includes:

Splash Into Summer - June 3
Wander into the Wild - June 10
Goin’ Green - June 17
A - Z Activities - June 24
Catch a Cloud - July 8
Barnyard Palooza - July 22
Urban Adventures - July 29
Movin’ n’ Groovin’ - August 5
Summer Sendoff - August 12

So stop panicking and get ready to enjoy lots of fun - fountain-side.
