Ohio Statehouse 1015 ResizeSummer in the city means you can find special events that let you get out and enjoy our urban neighborhood. Fridays are the day to explore the Ohio Statehouse, before or after you wander the alleys at Pearl Market. Stop by for the free lunch-time concerts and available ground tours. An outstanding example of Greek revival architecture, the Statehouse sits at the heart of downtown, a beautiful landmark well worth an afternoon (or afternoons) of your time.

Each Friday through August 26, from noon - 1 p.m., stop by for Summer Fridays at the Statehouse, a free series of outdoor performances staged on the West Plaza. Come experience some of Columbus’ diverse arts groups during your lunch hour. Pack a brown bag, pick up something delicious at Pearl Market, or grab some nosh from the food truck of the day. This week features The Alliance Chorus with deliciousness from J&C’s Diggity Dogs. You can find the full schedule of performances here

If you’ve never explored the Ohio Statehouse grounds, don’t miss the grounds tour held each Friday through September 30 from 1 - 2 p.m. The Ohio Statehouse grounds are among the most beautiful capitol grounds in the country. Each tour departs from the West Plaza, weather permitting. You’ll check out the Civil War cannons, monuments, foliage and highlights of the Statehouse’s exterior architecture.
