On February 15, Columbus Metropolitan Club hosts local leaders to discuss the State of Downtown. Led in discussion by moderator Cleve Ricksecker, otherwise known as Mr. Downtown, three panelists will discuss not only the major investments and booming housing construction, but they’ll also talk about the downtown growing pains, too.
Marc Conte of Capital Crossroads and Discovery Special Improvement Districts, collects and analyzes data regarding the vitality of downtown Columbus, and he’s noticed some interesting trends. City of Columbus Director of Development Steven Schoeney leads a team dedicated to improving the economy and neighborhoods of Columbus, and downtown is paramount to a thriving region. Jordan Davis chairs the Create Columbus Commission, an appointed board of young professionals serving as the community’s foremost thought leaders on the young professional experience. Together the panel offers different and unique views about how and why the apartment occupancy is high, housing construction is booming, and the office market in the downtown core is a mixed bag.
