Capital Crossroads and Discovery SIDs staff research and track downtown development. To keep the community informed of the findings, the SIDs release the State of Downtown 2018, a comprehensive report covering everything from major investments to retail and housing. The report is unveiled at the Columbus Metropolitan Club (CMC) at an annual luncheon. Developers, business reporters, brokers and the Central Ohio community show up to get the latest on downtown development.
On February 20, CMC hosted the State of Downtown 2018 to a packed house of more than 300 attendees. Deputy Director of Research, Planning and Facilities Marc Conte unveiled highlights of the report.
Executive Director Cleve Ricksecker moderated the event. Discussion turned to economic development in the Discovery District. Panelists included Columbus College of Art and Design President Dr. Melanie Corn, Placemaker/Street disruptor at Kaufman Development Jessica Mathews, and Pizzuti Companies President Joel Pizzuti.
