ProMusica at Franklin Park ResizeProMusica Chamber Orchestra will present a free concert series August 6, 8 and 9 at Franklin Park Conservatory, and you get the chance for a little downtown preview in Pearl Market on Friday. The ProMusica Summer Music Series celebrates both contemporary and classical music selections, and we know after you hear the preview, you’ll want all the details. Lucky for you, we’re gonna tell you everything you need to know.

On Friday, August 7, at the intersection of Pearl Alley and Gay Street, a ProMusica string quartet will perform for a lunchtime crowd beginning at 12:15 p.m. We hope you come by and hear for yourself. While you’re there, shoot a video or photo and post on your social network with the hashtag #promusicasummer.

The pop-up concert is just the beginning, though. The free outdoor concerts at Franklin Park Conservatory take place on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and will offer something for the entire family. Pre-concert children’s activities (think scavenger hunt and nature-inspired arts and crafts) begin at 7 p.m., and the concerts commence at 8 p.m. Spread a blanket, bring a picnic and enjoy a relaxed and casual evening brought to you by ProMusica.

Plan to stop by Pearl Market on Friday for the preview, and while you’re in the market, pick up some nosh for the picnic basket that you’ll want to take to the Franklin Park for the show.
