It’s no secret that the craft brew scene is huge in Columbus. Whether you prefer a pilsner, a double IPA or a hearty stout, choices abound. Several breweries call downtown home, which means an easy walk between taprooms (a good thing after a few pints). A few months ago, we gave you the heads up that Platform Beers is opening shop in Downtown. It’s time, and we want to give you some scoop.
Mark your calendar to welcome these Clevelanders to town on December 28, and the 3 p.m. opening promises to make for a perfect happy hour right after the hustle and bustle of Christmas. Heck, you might even decide to come back right away to ring in the New Year at Platform.
Just in case you can’t make it to the Grand Opening, you’ll be pleased to know that the taproom will be open seven days a week: Monday-Thursday, 3 p.m. to midnight; Friday, 3 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2:30 a.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Expect to see everything from new American styles to experimental sours and barrel-aged beers.
Once they’re settled in their new digs, they plan to have a rotating food menu with different vendors coming in to provide plenty of nosh. Just like in their Cleveland location, they open up their kitchen to local food vendors and guest chefs. Keep up to date about those details on their Facebook page.
