Before Red, White and BOOM! on Friday head to Pearl Market to stock up for a weekend of holiday festivities (three cheers for three-day weekends). The market offers all kinds of baked goods, produce, flowers and even jewelry (you can’t forget the holiday bling). Read on for some insider tips and to find out how to register to win some tix to another great downtown event.
Okay, so get your shopping list ready. Before you create your weekend menu, think about what kind of bling you might want to wear. Plenty of Pearl Market vendors will help you out. Check out Brady Bands and Beads, Bracelets & More for festive holiday jewelry.
Lots of sunshine and warm weather (and yes, even a little rain) promise to bring more and more produce each week of the Market. Hinton Apiaries, Fornof Market, Paige's Produce, Star Dancer Creamery, Stiehl Blueberries, Woolf Farms, Seminary Hill Farm, Darby Valley, and Naked Growers will all provide the necessary staples for your weekend menu. To dress up the table, visit Fornof Market & Donya's Florals for bouquets of fresh-cut flowers.
Now onto dessert. 8 Sisters Bakery and the Fat Girl Bakery (her words not ours) will have holiday-themed products that will sweeten up even a ho-hum cookout this weekend. And, for a little insider tip, buy a whole cheesecake from Sweet Cheese, top it with fresh berries from the Market, dust your face with a little flour and pass the dessert off as your own. We won’t tell, promise.
This will get you going, but it’s only a start. This week at the Market will offer plenty of things that you didn’t know you can’t live without. Shop this week because next Tuesday, July 5, Pearl Market will take a little vacay, but it will be back ready to go again on July 8.
Click on through to our Facebook page, and tell us what your favorite Pearl Market vendor is, and you’ll be entered to win a strip of 10 tickets to the CAPA Summer Movie Series.
