Book of Mormon

The national tour of Book of Mormon hits the Ohio Theatre stage starting May 22, and you just might win the lottery. After a tremendous two-week run in 2016, the nine-time Tony Award-winning musical returns to Columbus full of fun, fantastic music and lots of laughs. And, the production will offer a pre-show lottery with a limited number of tickets available for just $25. So, keep reading for more details.

The Book of Mormon took Broadway by storm in 2011, telling the story of the misadventures of two Mormon missionaries visiting Africa to share their faith. Be ready for some explicit language (warning), but also great music, hilarity and genuine human connections. Brought to you by the creators of South Park and the musical Avenue Q, this shouldn’t come as a big surprise. Whether you’re seeing it for the first time or fourth, prepare for a good time.

Regular price tickets start at $34. And, you can purchase them at the CAPA Ticket Center at 39 E. State Street, by calling 614.469.0939, or at Ticketmaster outlets including ticketmaster.com. If you want take a chance on the ticket lottery, you must submit your entry at the box office two and a half hours before the performance. First, fill out a card with your name and the number of tickets (one or two) you would like. Then, two hours before the show, the winners names will be chosen. However, only one entry is allowed per person, and you must be on hand at the time of the drawing to win. You will also need to show a valid ID to purchase your tickets, cash only.

Win or not, plan a night (or afternoon) of Book of Mormon fun. Before or after the show, plan to grab a bite and sip. Maybe you crave a Condado taco, a healthy salad from Market 65, or something a bit fancier at The Plaza Restaurant. Or, if you just need a little snack, check out the deliciousness at The Peanut Shoppe. Afterward, we recommend something sweet from Jeni’s located in Columbus Commons, a cup of delicious joe from Hemingway Coffee Nook, or wander down to the LeVeque Tower for a special after-dinner drink from The Keep.
