The calendar flipped to October yesterday. While the warm temperatures belie fall's arrival, you can find lots of fall fun downtown. From music to shopping to ghost stories, you'll find plenty to keep yourself, family and friends entertained. So, keep reading to learn more about the fun. October Boogie Down

Dress for Halloween success and head to The Columbus Symphony’s Monster Boogie. Aimed for kids ages 2-10, this Concert for Kids event offers one hour of frightful fun. And, kids young and old will love both the music and all the other activities. First, the concert features both spooky classical music, plus the theme music from movie favorites like Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars and Ghostbusters. Plus, the fun includes a pre-concert Halloween costume contest, a “Monster Mash” dance area, crafts and more. Haunted Statehouse Tours

Get your spooky on with a Haunted Statehouse Tour. Explore the Statehouse as you follow your lantern-bearing guide who shares the building’s haunted history. Be warned; these tours sell out quickly. So, grab your tickets now for some ghostly goodness. First, choose from times on October 19-20 or October 26-27; tours run every half hour between 7-9 p.m. Then, head to the Statehouse Museum Shop, online or call 614.728.9234 to purchase your tickets.

You only have two more weeks to shop this year's Pearl Market. So, head over and check out all the fabulous fall finds. From apples, pumpkins and gourds to fuzzy sweaters from The Sweater Lady to delicious coffee, you can stock up on your fall needs before the Market closes on October 12.
