Pearl Market

Pearl Market moves to the Statehouse in 2018Sure, it’s cold outside. But it’s never too early to think about spring. And it’s almost time for Pearl Market. Well, sort of. While you're hibernating, planning is well underway for this downtown summer fave. Also, big news is on the way. The market will move across the street this summer to the Statehouse, and they’re looking for some new vendors. Do you want to see more farmers, bakers and jewelry makers? Better yet, do you know any of these people? Before they go, you'll get scoop on the move and how to become a vendor. You’ll even get a chance to win lunch on us when you give us your two cents about Pearl Market.

First, why the move to the Statehouse? Well, did you notice all the scaffolding in front of the Rhodes State Office Tower? The building needs a face lift. So, as it turns out, getting even a little work done on a skyscraper is no small feat. Due to this, Pearl Market will move across the street to the Statehouse. But don’t worry—the move isn’t forever. However, it gives organizers a chance to take a look at the vendor mix of Pearl Market. Hey, that’s where you come in. What’s your favorite artisan vendor or baker? What farmer has the best tomatoes? Do you know a cheese vendor? Pearl Market Manager Dustin Speakman wants to know.

Or, maybe you’ve thought about starting a new business and want to test the Downtown market. You’re in luck, too. The application process is super easy, and you don’t pay a dime unless you’re accepted. Dustin reviews applications on a rolling basis, and he keeps a careful eye on the merchant mix. You wouldn’t want too many cookies, right? Okay, so maybe there are never too many cookies, but you get the idea.

Pearl Market Application Process:

  • Fill out the vendor application and submit
  • Pearl Market notifies vendors
  • Attend an orientation
  • Make your way to the market
  • Tell all your friends and have fun
