Well hello there Columbus, it's Susan Q. of Let Us Eat Cupcakes here to announce that I've taken the torch and will be bringing you the low down on downtown and everything Pearl Market this 2012 Season. As Market Maven and a third-year-returning vendor, I'll be profiling all the goods that Pearl's urban oasis has to offer. Look for weekly updates on what's fresh from our treasured farmers; the scoop on marvelous merchandise from our crafty vendors; as well as spot lights on individual entrepreneurs and insights in to life on the farm.

The USDA is predicting a bumper crop season, early planting has given our farmers a head start (a welcome change to last year's slow go) so look for an abundance of fresh produce; and Bonus, we've added a few new farms to the already bounteous farmer's list, a cornucopia of locally grown veggies, fruits and herbs will be available indeed.

The merchant line-up is looking impressive and includes many returning favorites plus some talented new vendors offering everything from hydroponic systems to gourmet delicacies. Short lunch break? We’ve got some grab-n-go options that will still give you time to shop the Market. Add live music, a helpful market staff and in-alley restaurants to that equation and you've got a win/win, mid-day bonanza of food, shopping, produce and fun.
