Downtown Columbus

Big screens, historic theaters, starry skies and giant aromatic tubs of popcorn. Check. Wait, do you want to see a classic flick, childhood favorite or a box office smash? Take your pick, but don’t go far because you find it all right here, right downtown.

Planning the next night out gets really easy, when you check out one of the many movies playing on the big screens at Columbus Commons, Scioto Mile, Ohio Theatre or Arena Grand.

CAPA’s Summer Movie Series features 27 movie classics over the course of the summer from High Anxiety directed by mastermind Mel Brooks to Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom to the zany antics of Wiley Coyote in Cartoon Capers. CAPA fills the summer with family-fun entertainment that won’t break the bank. A strip of 10 tickets costs just $25 so you’ll have plenty of dough for a tub of popcorn.

Take two, and stretch out under the stars as movie reel rolls at Movies on the Mile at Bicentennial Park or Movie Nights at Columbus Commons. Grab a blanket and picnic basket, or better yet grab some takeout from a local restaurant since these movies are a no-cost extravaganza.

Wanna be first in line to see the latest box office smash? Head on down to the Arena Grand Theatre to get up close and personal with stars – of the Hollywood variety.

Try them all and let us know your favorite. In the meantime, leave a comment here about your all-time favorite movie, and you’ll be entered to win a strip of 10 tickets for CAPA’s Summer Movie Series (you must leave your email address, so we can reach the winner; your email will not be used for any other purpose). That’s two thumbs up.
