We’ve got tickets to a show that promises toe-tappin’ good times and inspiration – all right downtown at the Great Southern Theatre. The Harmony Project sings Peace, Love and Harmony on May 15 and 16. Tickets are on sale now, and a Right Now Downtown reader is going to win a pair to what promises to be a sold out show. First, we want to give you scoop on the group.

The music is as diverse as the 200 voices singing. As choir members practice, barriers crumble and connections emerge.

Harmony Project connects Columbus across cultural, social and geographic lines through programming and opportunities. People from different generations, points of view and cultural experiences unite through musical training and performance while working side-by-side in collective community service.

Music becomes the conduit of change, one project at a time. When they’re not practicing or performing, members spend hours in food banks, homeless shelters and inner city neighborhoods building, cleaning, painting and planting. Harmony Project members also provide access to music and art to children from different backgrounds to create dialogue, which leads to understanding.

Community in harmony.

It’s all pretty cool, and just by going to a show in the historic Southern Theatre you can help pay it forward. Like us on Facebook and you will be entered to win a pair of tickets to the show.

In the meantime, take a peek at a recent rehearsal.
