The Topiary Park downtown is a true gem. It's a gorgeous place to visit, bring a picnic or to snap some beautiful family photos. And this weekend it is the place to be. On Friday, pack a picnic and head to the Land of Oz. Then on Saturday, bring the kids to get their jazz on.

The Discovery Special Improvement District, Gateway Film Center and Columbus Metropolitan Library are sponsoring the Topiary Park Theatre and the From Book to Film series. This week's feature is The Wizard of Oz, so bring your blankets and a picnic (ruby slippers optional) and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities leading up to show time at dusk.

The PBJ & Jazz series has returned to the Topiary Park for a sixth season, this week featuring Cedric Easton & "Circle of Friends." The series is a collaborative effort of the Jazz Arts Group, Friends of the Topiary Park, Friends of the Library, and the Columbus Museum of Art. The hour-long interactive concerts introduce kiddos to jazz and American music as well as the joys of taking in a live performance. The fun starts at 11 a.m. with story time at the Main Library, followed by the live concert at noon. After the show, stick around for a fun art project presented by the Columbus Museum of Art.

The rest of the weekend and all year long you can always visit the Topiary Park to take in the one-of-a-kind natural sculptures, an interpretation of George Seurat's painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of La Grande Jatte.
