Last weekend we soaked up the warm, sunny rays on Saturday while we tried to forget that it is still February. We hate to break it to you, but more cold weather looms; however, we found out it's always tropical at the Grass Skirt Tiki Room. The peeps there feel so bad that the Columbus winter won't go away, they planned all kinds of cool things to give you oomph through this next expected cold spell. What's even better? One of our readers could choose to hula in their own grass skirt compliments of the Big Kahuna at the Tiki.

Tonight when you visit the Grass Skirt, take advantage of Tiki Tuesday. All classics are just five bucks from 3 - 7 p.m., so wrap up that late afternoon meeting and grab yourself a Mai Tai (or two).

Pull out your Ginger wig and pumps or your Skipper cap for Castaway Wednesdays. Join in the charades or just sip your favorite tropical drink while you laugh at old episodes of Gilligan's Island.

For those philanthropists out there, the Grass Skirt (and all other Columbus Food League restaurants) hosts Community Partner Days on the second Tuesday of the month. On these days, a portion of each customer purchase goes toward the featured community partner.

Whether you take advantage of one of the special events or just want to forget that the weather outside still sucks, we promise that you will feel like you stepped into paradise at the Grass Skirt.

Hula on over to see for yourself. If you like Downtown Columbus on Facebook, we will enter you win a gift certificate to Grass Skirt. Don't forget to check back on our FB page to find out if you won. We'll post the winner there on Wednesday morning - just in time for Castaway Wednesday fun.
