Think: Promising Healthy All The Time. Too much to remember? How about PHATT Taco? You may have heard of PHATT Wrap near campus, but Jose Becerra will soon bring a new concept, PHATT Taco, to 50 North High Street. The new downtown digs open soon, and you can win lunch for two when it opens. Keep reading.

In a previous life, Jose designed, set up and managed corporate cafes, mostly in southern California, but when his career landed him in Cbus to design a corporate cafe for Abercrombie, he decided to call Columbus home.

Jose's newest venture, PHATT Taco, will focus on simple, authentic Mexican food - tacos, tostados and taquitos, with seven or eight dollar lunch combos. Also look for items like Caldo de Pollo, which is a Mexican chicken soup with chunks of fresh chicken, carrots, onions and potatoes, whatever is in season. PHATT Taco plans to open in mid-December, so Jose's steamy soup will offer a delicious way to flip off Old Man Winter.

The PHATT Taco experience will be interactive, as well, giving customers an opportunity to create their own smoothies at a luscious juice bar. Into a blender, toss hunks of fresh pineapple or maybe carrots with some fresh-squeezed OJ and a scoop of ice (Jose will even provide a recipe suggestion or two), and then slurp sweet, personalized concoctions through a straw.

In the spring, look for an expanded menu to include things ceviche, and maybe even happy hour margaritas. Speaking of happy hour, post a comment about your favorite downtown drink special and be entered to win lunch for two at PHATT Tacos.
