Summer just came to its unofficial close, but you’ll still feel like you’re beachside when you order a delicious meal from 89 Fish & Grill. Set amid the hustle, bustle and casual atmosphere of the Arena District, 89 Fish & Grill offers fine dining rather than the more-typical-of-the-area bar bites.
As you can probably guess from their name, fish is their game. We may be in land-locked Ohio, but 89 Fish & Grill flies their fish in daily guaranteeing its freshness and deliciousness. Chef John Beck then prepares the fish with local ingredients from Ohio farmers. Not a big fish person? That’s okay; you will find outrageous grass-fed beef and Ohio-raised pork and chicken joining the scaled guys on the menu. And to wash it all down, there is a fantastic drink menu with specialty cocktails, an extensive wine list and even their own 89 Draft Beer which is brewed in Zanesville.
Warm weather or cold, the atmosphere will certainly add to your experience. While the weather holds, the patio is fantastic spot to enjoy your meal, a quick happy hour and even live music on Fridays from 6 – 8 p.m. Inside, you’ll find a warm and inviting dining room and cozy bar area. 89 Fish & Grill is located in the Fulton Law Building, a turn-of-the-century warehouse that once housed produce.
So be sure to check them out either as a last summer hurrah or once the weather cools and hockey returns to the Arena District. You won’t be disappointed. And keep an eye out here for a Blue Plate Special in the coming weeks!
