It's Thanksgiving weekend in Columbus, the kickoff to the holiday season and a time to embrace tradition. After you stuff yourself with turkey and the trimmings, plan to take in Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol. For the more than 30 years, the Nebraska Theatre Caravan's national touring production has been bringing Scrooge, Tiny Tim and a bunch of ghosts to the Columbus stage.
Tickets are still available for this fantastic show, which runs Friday, November 29 through Sunday, December 1. Tickets start at 22.00 and can be purchased from CAPA online, by phone (614.469.0939) or at the CAPA Ticket Office at 39 East State Street. If you've never been before, start a new holiday tradition, or keep a family favorite tradition running.
But if you travel for the holiday or can't tear yourself away from Black Friday shopping or the big Buckeye game, you have a second chance. CATCO is presenting A Christmas Carol, adapted by Patrick Barlow, the Tony Award-winning creator of The 39 Steps. Five actors portray all the characters in this rendition, which also incorporates puppets, masks and music. The show runs December 4 - 22.
