Cbus may not get a winter scene from Currier and Ives this year, but that isn't stopping the peeps in the Discovery District who plan a fun-filled day with their Holiday StopAround on Saturday, December 7. If you missed it last year, the event provided the perfect opportunity to take in some holiday shopping as well as some festive events - just perfect to get you in the mood for the holidays.
Bring the family downtown for a day of Discovery District exploration as you hop on a no-cost guided bus tour led by Landmarks Foundation docents. They'll share all kinds of cool tidbits about the Discovery District during the ride.
Don't forget to hop on and off the bus whenever you like. Whether you want to pick up some cool, one-of-a-kind artsy gifts at the Columbus Museum of Art or grab a gift card at the Replenish: the Spa Co-op. There will be family fun for everyone. Hey, there will even be crafts for the kiddos.
State Auto will offer free parking, and you can catch the trolley bus right there. Oh, and if you've been thinking of ways to be a little more charitable this year, bring a few pairs of new socks and gloves, which will benefit Faith Mission and the Manna Cafe. You will find drop boxes out and about during your afternoon wonderland adventure.
Look for events at: State Auto, Columbus Metropolitan Library, Columbus Museum of Art, Thurber House, Kelton House, Topiary Park, Jefferson Center, Ballet Met, Grass Skirt, Columbus College of Art & Design, Columbus Landmarks, Franklin University, Replenish and The Hills Market Downtown.
The event runs from noon to 4 p.m.
