It’s a given that Downtown boasts great restaurants, but peeps are also noticing pockets of retail shops popping up, which help revive downtown. We’ve seen it along Gay Street with the likes of Zer0z and Robert Mason Co. Buckeye Laptop and Sofyano opened on South High Street, and now Columbus Furniture Revival has found a home nestled between Dirty Franks and Little Palace.

Lauren Marcum turned creative passion and a love of “garaging” into a business venture. Columbus Furniture Revival gives furniture a second chance at love while it provides customers with cool, affordable, one-of-a kind pieces.

Sandwiched between Dirty Franks and Little Palace on South Fourth Street, Columbus Furniture Revival carries everything from vintage candlesticks to refurbished dressers to a cool 1954 refrigerator. (Hey, the fridge works like dream.)

Her storefront features furniture pieces that Lauren has re-envisioned into unique and practical pieces, which will also stir a little conversation along the way. Venture into the back of the store, and you will find some pieces waiting on a little love. Pick out a piece, and Lauren will customize it for you. She can even turn that ugly old coffee table that your Aunt Mabel gave you into something that will be the showcase of your living room.

“We offer a number of customizable options (paint, staining, repairs, distressed, etc.) for your furniture and pieces that are here in the store,” Lauren said. “Don't give up on that dresser collecting dust in your basement.”

Columbus Furniture Revival is closed on Mondays, but open Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, 12 to 7 p.m. and Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m. so stop in at 246 S. 4th St. and check it out. Comment below and let us know where you would like to see more retail downtown, and we’ll enter your name to win a 20 percent discount your purchase at Columbus Furniture Revival.
