Did the idea of making New Year’s Resolutions stress you out? We discovered a possible solution after talking to a new downtown business owner. On the Square Yoga will soon open in the shops in Capitol Square. Owner Mary Coleman has a few grand opening specials that promise to help relieve the muscle stress rippling across your shoulders, and for those Type A’s out there who think none of this applies, keep reading because Mary has a surprise for you, too.

Originally, Mary stumbled across yoga when she was looking for a recovery activity on her non-workout days during a fast-paced career in the legal profession. After practicing yoga for about three years, she began to study with a private instructor; but it wasn’t until she suffered an illness that she saw the profound healing that yoga could bring.

The convergence of Eastern and Western wellness philosophies makes activities like yoga more mainstream now, and Mary is ready to be the conduit for others to find the powerful and restorative benefits.

“People at all levels of an organization put in many hours and are often under lots of stress to get their jobs done,” Mary said. “When I realized that I wanted to open a yoga studio, I knew without hesitation that I wanted to give the people that I had worked with for many years the opportunity to experience the healing (and stress relief) yoga can provide.”

The grand opening for On The Square Yoga is February 4, and Mary is hosting an open house to give people the opportunity to see the space and learn more about what she is going to offer. For more information about the open house and special discounts, visit onthesquareyoga.com.
