Now you can take the CBUS through Cbus. On May 5, COTA launched its new downtown circulator bus service called CBUS. The bus travels from the Brewery District, through downtown, north to the Short North Arts District and back again. The hope is that downtown employees, residents and visitors will use it to travel through the area. Oh, and the kicker? It won't cost you a farthing.

After an initial unveiling at last Saturday's Gallery Hop, CBUS went into full operation at 7 a.m. on Monday. The CBUS buses are uniquely-branded 30 foot CNG buses. They run every 10 minutes, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; every 15 minutes 7 - 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 p.m. - midnight Fridays, 9 a.m. - midnight Saturdays, and 10:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sundays. There are 29 stops, found under a round CBUS sign along High Street and Front Street from Sycamore Street in the Brewery District to 3rd Avenue in the Short North (you can find a full map of stops here).

"The CBUS allows COTA to align its service and resources with one of the goals of our community - a thriving downtown that is attractive to visitors," said Curtis Stitt, COTA President/CEO. "This service will provide greater connectivity between some of the most vibrant districts in our city."

So get out there and grab a ride on the CBUS.
