Gather your friends and light the sky with girl power. Don’t worry, men. We want you to join in, too.

The Women’s Fund Keyholder event is coming to the Ohio Theatre on May 9 featuring Golden Globe Best Actress winner America Ferrera and New York Times best-selling author Sheryl WuDunn to celebrate the strength of women and girls. We’ve got some tickets to give away to one of our readers.

America Ferrera and Sheryl WuDunn will have a conversation about how every person can affect social change. They’ll discuss their work together investing in the power and potential of women worldwide using Half the Sky, the book that Sheryl WuDunn co-authored, as a back drop for the evening.

All proceeds from this event are used to provide grants that promise social change for women and girls. For every woman or girl who participates in Women’s Fund grant partner programming, the effect ripples through the community touching six more lives. That’s social change. One purpose. One girl at a time. That’s what The Women’s Fund is all about.

“The Women’s Fund has hosted this event over the years to inspire, empower and motivate audiences,” said Nichole Dunn, President and CEO of The Women’s Fund. “America Ferrera is an authentic actress who sincerely sees the strength of women and girls. Her passion for social change makes her more than relatable; it’s a perfect fit.”

For more information or to order tickets go to Women’s Fund of Central Ohio. If you are interested in taking a whole posse of gal pals, Women’s Fund will even rope off a section of seats so you can make your ripple even bigger.

If you forward this week’s Right Now Downtown newsletter to a friend, you and your friend will be entered to win a pair of tickets to the event.
