The Columbus Commons Fitness Classes are back after a mid-summer hiatus. Classes are taught by Ohio Fit Club instructors and won't cost you a dime thanks to a sponsorship by United Healthcare. With a wide variety of options all week long, you are sure to be able to find something that fits your schedule and interests.
On Mondays from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., you can get fit with Bootcamp class, a varied mix of functional movements using your body weight and other equipment.
Tuesday starts with Crossfit from 6:30 - 7:30 a.m., good for beginners through advanced participants. This full-body workout consists of running, jumping, calisthenics and other fun activities to develop your fitness. Are you a runner? You won't want to miss Runners' Prep on Tuesdays from noon - 1 p.m. This class is designed to help long-distance runners by supplementing their running plan. New or experienced runners will gain advantage from this non-running workout.
Kick out your hump day frustration with Kickboxing on Wednesday from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. This varied mix of martial arts skills offers up fun with butt-kicking. Then from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., get your sweat on with Hip Hop; each class offers new dance combinations and routines.
Start your weekend with some zen on Saturday from 9 - 10 a.m. The Vinyassa Flow Yoga class combines basic yoga poses and breathing into an invigorating workout. Bring your own mat. Then from 10 - 11 a.m., kick things up a notch with Zumba, a fusion of Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves that will tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.
To participate in any class, you must register online and complete a waiver and release. Just fill it out once and you can participate in any class throughout the season.
