Die-hard Cafe Brioso groupies plan meetings, lunch appointments and afternoon pick-me-ups at this Gay Street staple, but you don't have to be a coffee connoisseur to get in on the action. Brioso offers an amazing selection of artisan-baked goods and made-from-scratch lunch options. Oh yeah, they also offer a full menu of non-coffee beverages, and they're just as good as the coffee, which is darn fine. Founder and owner Jeff Davis believes it's important to give back to the community, so Brioso sponsors all kinds of community-driven initiatives. But now you get a chance to them out a bit.
Jeff opened up shop at the corner of Gay and High before Gay Street was the place to hang out. Now, he plans an expansion in the Discovery District. This new concept will provide a larger roasting facility and a coffee bar. Don't worry; you'll still be able to get that afternoon jolt at the corner of High and Gay streets. That's not going anywhere.
The new location will feature an open floor plan immersing customers in the roasting process - from a viewing area to an experimental coffee laboratory to an open cupping station.
Brioso announced these plans to expand into the Discovery District last year, but the opening was delayed, and just last week, the company introduced a crowdfunding program to help the concept reach its full potential. As a thank you to their loyal supporters, Brioso will provide some great incentives. So, love Cafe Brioso and wanna help it offer even more? Now's your chance.
