Nineties nostalgia hits Columbus Commons this week with a free show from the Gin Blossoms. Head over on Thursday, August 21 and get your weekend started early with great music, food from local food trucks, and refreshing drinks.

Though probably best known for 90s hits like Hey Jealousy and Found Out About You, Gin Blossoms have continued to make music since they reunited in 2002, including albums released in 2006 and 2010.

Concessions open at 6 p.m. Then the show kicks off with local favorites Forest & the Evergreens at 7 p.m., followed by the Gin Blossoms, all on the Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion stage.

You can pack a blanket or chair (chairs are recommended if the rain projected for early in the week pans out, making for a wet lawn), but please leave your coolers and staked umbrellas at home. In addition to food from the permanent cafes, Mikey's Late Night Slice and Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, you can nosh on goodies from food trucks including Hungry Monkey, Mojo Taco, Paddy Wagon, Pitabilities, Taco Sherpa and Tortilla. The cash bars are literally cash bars, so bring cash money or plan to hit the ATM located in the park.
