Although the early summer rains meant summer didn’t really get rolling until mid-July, the hard truth for many kids is back-to-school is here. Some schools started last week and some this week, while Columbus City Schools’ bells don’t ring until August 26. For many families, the cost of school supplies is a difficult burden, so once again this year, Columbus Underground is running a supply drive to help those in need.
This year, the Columbus Underground drive will support the efforts of S.W.A.T. - So We All Thrive, an organization that collects basic school supplies and donates them to the Columbus City Schools that need them the most.
So gather up those pencils, crayons, markers, erasers, glue sticks, notebooks, folders, notebook paper and more and drop them off at the Columbus Underground offices, 14 East Gay Street, Floor 5, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. And, if you were one of the lucky ones to get tickets to Columbus Underground’s Best Bites Tacos event on Thursday, August 20, they will be collecting school supplies there as well. If you have any questions or need to make other donation arrangements, please contact anne@columbusunderground.com.
