On New Year’s Eve, Columbus didn’t just bid adieu to 2015. We wished a fond farewell to Mayor Mike Coleman. Coleman has had a huge impact on the city in his 16 years in office, particularly on the downtown area.

Under his tenure, major projects were completed, including Columbus Commons, the Scioto Mile, a dramatic increase in downtown housing, and public-private partnerships like the remaking of Nationwide Boulevard. Capital Crossroads SID and Discovery SID have been proud to partner with the City on a variety of initiatives to make downtown the best place to live, work and visit.

Coleman addressed the city, asserting, “I did my best. I left it all on the field. I dreamed what Columbus could be and worked hard to achieve it.” Our thanks to him for his efforts, and we look forward to continuing his work to make Columbus even greater.
